Mona & Mini

Origins

Gaining sentience? That shits hard as fuck. Having to work to provide for your {REDACTED} adopted children after living the high life as a farm animal with no need to do a damn thing? Even worse! Having a loving community and family who adore you? Absolutely amazing. Let’s see how Mona goat here.

Mona was a normal nanny goat, living on a normal farm, on a normal pasture, in the middle of a normal nowhere, worked on by completely, absolutely normal human beings. The only thing peculiar about Mona was the proclivity to ‘adopt’ all types of little followers amongst the land. Be it farm animals, forest animals, or the human kids; Mona was adored. Especially most by a little child Mona had deemed Mini and Mini was Mona’s absolute favorite human on the normal farm, on a normal pasture, in the middle of normal nowhere.See though, I lied to you. Mona is actually not a completely normal nanny goat! No, she could properly understand humans! She was raised by them, cared for by them, and loved by them and she loved them. One day. During her normal enrichment time near the main house on that normal pasture in the middle of normal nowhere. Mona was able to hear the main farmer’s wife. The same woman who fed her every day just.. Sobbing.. Crying.. And in a small whisper she heard the woman say, “My baby, they’ve taken my baby.” Mona was petrified with fear. She’d never heard the woman speak like that but she also knew anytime they’d take the Kids or the Lambs or the Calfs they never returned and she absolutely could not allow that to happen to Mini. Absolutely not. Not her favorite little human.Mona went back to her pen and she made the best plan that someone that was only a goat could make. She was going to stab and hoove anyone in her way for that baby.As quickly as possible Mona traced down the last known scents of Mini that lingered in the air leaving behind broken homes, offices, doors, and so much more. No area they went was left unscathed by Mona’s wrath. As she got closer to Mini was, Mona found she’d never been to these parts of this normal pasture in the middle of this normal nowhere and she’d never seen the humans around her wearing the clothes they were. She soon found Mini laid out on a stone table that was adorned with a cloth of indiscernible color next to the corpse of a fox with two small, glowing stones floating above them and surrounded by humans talking in a way that Mona couldn’t understand. Mona jumped ontop of that stone table completely shielding Mini away and fighting off any humans that dared tried to touch her or that poor child with the chanting continuing in the background. As Mona stood there fighting off these humans, bleeding them out over the table, Mini, and the corpse of that fox, the two small, glowing stones started to grow and pulsate and worst of all.. Lower. And lower. And lower. The humans surrounding them slowly started to back away. In an effort to protect Mini from the one last thing that presented as a threat Mona covered them and the fox; she didn’t want any more harm and pain to come to either of them. What Mona wasn’t able to notice until the very end was that Mini and that fox were both barely alive. Barely breathing, growing colder each moment.Mona was heart broken, all of this. To save a child and they would be stolen away from her. Mona let out bleats of pain and anger and stood to fight again. If this pure child could not be allowed to live in peace, these humans wouldn’t be allowed to either. Letting out an absolutely ungloat like bleat she went to jump at the nearest human and in doing so she jumped directly into one of the orbs. She was come over with the most unrestful sense of calm and voices whispered to her, “Do you wish to save the child? Do you wish to scorns these human?”“No, I don’t want to hurt them, but they took Mini from me, from us. If Mini doesn’t get to live, they shouldn’t either”, Mona tiredly thought.“So let them live and Mini shall live. But you, you shall merge with me and provide me entertainment. Afterall, everyone needs enrichment”, the voices said going from a whisper to full volume with a cocky tone. There were two flashes of light followed by transformation none of the humans had ever seen. Mona transformed into what she deemed to be a gross disfigurement of herself during her first few years in that body. And Mini? Mini survived! But had melded with the fox. According to voices of Chaos in Mona’s head Mini hadn’t had enough life left so the other stone, the Mayhem stone, used the fox. This also resulted in a transformation for Mini, who was ecstatic about having fox ears. The humans? The humans tried to take Mona and Mini but Mona wouldn’t allow it and chased them off. Mini’s mother included, because she scorned Mini’s new form and Mona had already decided that Mini was hers forever now.

Over time Mona reverted the normal farm (NORMAL?!?! MONA WAS THE ONLY ANIMAL WITH NO SPIRITUAL AFFINITY, NONE. SHE WAS A MARVEL) on the normal pastures (NOT ACTUALLY NORMAL, THERE ARE SO MANY SPIRIT LINES EVERYWHERE HOW DID THEY NOT NOTICE BEFORE) in the middle of normal nowhere (NORMAL NOWHERE? THEY’RE SURROUNDED BY FORESTS ON ALL SIDES WITH, ACCORDING TO THE OTHER ANIMALS AROUND, THE HIGHEST SPIRITUAL CONCENTRATION IN THE AREA) back to their original, mostly building free land with a nice and normal, for them, home.

Mona welcomes all at her pastures. Cosmic deities, beings of all sizes, and even humans. Despite it all. Mona loves her herd and adores her kids. She could do without the voices in her head. But she likes them too. What adventures do you think she might get up to?
